How we protect your data
This page is maintained by Westside Walks to answer common security and privacy questions about our booking and pet-care platform. It describes the controls currently enabled in our app — it is not a third-party certification or audit.
Shared responsibility
Westside Walks runs on the Lovable Cloud platform. The platform provides hosting, managed authentication, a managed Postgres database, and file storage. Westside Walks (the app owner) is responsible for what data we collect, how we use it, and the access rules configured inside the app. You (the customer) are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials private.
Access & authentication
- Accounts are protected with email + password or Google sign-in.
- Passwords are never stored in plaintext — they are managed by our authentication provider.
- Each account can only read and edit its own profile, pets, bookings, messages, and purchases. Administrative access is limited to Westside Walks staff accounts.
- Row-level access rules are enforced on the database server, not just in the browser.
Data we collect
To deliver bookings, walks, and report cards we may store:
- Account info: name, email, phone.
- Pet info you provide during intake (breed, age, vet, behavior notes, emergency contacts).
- Booking, walk, invoice, and message history.
- Photos you or our walkers upload that are associated with your pet.
We only use this information to provide and improve the service.
Storage & transport security
- Traffic between your device and our app is served over HTTPS.
- Private files (avatars, report cards) live in non-public storage buckets and are served via short-lived signed URLs.
- Gallery photos that you publish are intentionally public.
Subprocessors & integrations
We use a small set of vendors to operate the service:
- Lovable Cloud — hosting, database, authentication, file storage.
- Stripe — payment processing. Card details are entered directly on Stripe and are not stored by Westside Walks.
- Google — optional Sign in with Google.
Cookies & analytics
We use the cookies required to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We do not sell your personal information.
Privacy requests & deletion
To request a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account, email westsidetailwags@gmail.com from the address on your account. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe. Some records (such as paid invoices) may be retained where required for tax or legal reasons.
Reporting a security issue
If you believe you've found a security or privacy issue, please contact us at westsidetailwags@gmail.com with details so we can investigate. Please do not publicly disclose the issue until we've had a chance to address it.
